HEALTH CARE INSURANCE PROVIDERS
You might have your own healthcare policy, common policies exist with BUPA and AXA PPP, or you may have a healthcare employee assistance policy from where you work. Employee assistance policies often provide cover for your partner and family members.
All clinicians at Reigate Psychology Service (RPS) are registered with the principle healthcare insurance providers.
It is important to check your policy to see what is covered as many providers set limits as to the number of sessions you can receive. You may also have to pay an excess payment when activating your cover.
Insurance companies provide cover in different ways so you may find it helpful to contact your provider to find out how you might access treatment at RPS. A typical procedure for payments by an insurance provider is as follows:
- Contact your insurance company to find out how you might be able to access psychological treatment.
- You might be able to refer yourself directly to RPS, or need a referral from your GP or via a psychiatrist. A referral letter is typically a few sentences outlining current difficulties and a request to be seen.
- a pre-authorisation number from your insurance provider.
