Cancellations and non-attendance

If you’ve confirmed a booking with a clinician, you’re expected to attend. You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before the appointment but if you cancel within 24 hours or don’t attend an appointment, you will be required to pay the fee. If you have health insurance then the session will count towards your allowance. If you do need to cancel, please let your clinician know as soon as possible.

Have healthcare insurance?

All clinicians at Reigate Psychology Service are registered with the main healthcare insurance providers, such as BUPA, AXA, WPA, Aviva, and Cigna.

If you have your own private healthcare insurance or an employee healthcare assistance policy from work, contact your insurer to find out how you might be able to access psychological treatment. You might be able to refer yourself directly, or they may say you need a referral from your GP. A referral letter is typically a few sentences outlining current difficulties and a request to be seen.

Employee assistance policies often provide cover for your partner and family members too. It’s important to check your policy to see what is covered because many providers set limits as to the number of sessions you can receive. You may also have to pay an excess payment when activating your cover (typically between £100 and £250).

Obtain a pre-authorisation number from your insurance provider. Then contact us to arrange an appointment.
